To acknowledge the University's relationship with the Canberra diplomatic community a scholarship has been established that provides a tuition fee concession to accredited diplomats and their immediate family.
Each year the Research School of Physics and Engineering ("the School") may award a scholarship known as the Wanda Henry Scholarship in Photonics ("the Scholarship") The Scholarship is available to second year students enrolled in physics and/or engineering.
The objective of the award is to assist undergraduate students in their study of photonics and give them the freedom to get involved in campus life and provide the encouragement and support to reach their full potential.
These scholarships are intended to assist undergraduate and graduate students to undertake fieldwork and research, preferably in Northern Australia. The fieldwork projects will be of short duration between two and four weeks or as negotiated with the selection committee.
Each year, the ANU College of Law may offer an award known as the Phillipa Weeks Scholarship in Law. The objective of the Award is to support rural, regional and remote students who want to attend ANU to obtain a degree in Law. The Award aims to offset some of the financial burden of attendance at law school.
Funding for this Award has been provided by donors to the University including alumni, law firms, the Weeks family and former colleagues, students and friends of the late Professor Phillipa Weeks.
The ANU Accommodation Bursary is designed to assist full time ANU students, established in permanent accommodation, who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship. Priority may be given to students nearing the end of their studies and needing assistance to complete. All applications are considered by a committee. Lodging an application does not guarantee a bursary will be awarded. Bursaries provide temporary assistance and should not be regarded as on-going aid.
This scholarship is offered by the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences.
Each year, Bruce Hall, a residential college at The Australian National University, offers an award known as the Bill Packard Scholarship with the aim of assisting students in financial need relocating from outside of the Canberra region, with the cost of accommodation fees whilst they undertake an undergraduate degree at the ANU.
