Love Scholarship title

Each year the University may award scholarships known as the ANU Love Scholarships ("the Scholarship"). 

The objective of the award is to help a student who is dedicated, has high ethics, is resilient, has met roadblocks during their life and will be able to move forward and shine as a result of being awarded the Love Scholarship. The Love scholarships are a flagship scholarship program at ANU, promoting and supporting equity and diversity at the University.

Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships for Study at Harvard University title

The Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships were established at Harvard University in 1945 by a gift from Annie Reid Knox, wife of the late Frank Knox, who served as U.S. Secretary of the Navy in the 1940s. Frank Knox believed that strong ties between the United States and the British Commonwealth were essential to international peace. The Knox Memorial Fellowship program promotes this legacy through scholarly exchange, in part by providing fellowships to students from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom who wish to conduct graduate study at Harvard University.

The Poppy Undergraduate Scholarship title

Every three years, the Australian National University (ANU) may award a scholarship known as The Poppy Undergraduate Scholarship

The objectives of the scholarship are:

  • provide financial support to a person who experiences financial disadvantage;
  • help enable and encourage the recipient to continue their studies;
  • acknowledge the efforts and the courage of the recipient in pursuing the undergraduate study;
  • support and inspire the recipient to continue to contribute to their community.

R.G. Menzies Scholarship to Harvard title

Established in 1967 by the Harvard Club of Australia, the scholarship honours a great Australian Statesman and furthers Australian/ American relations.  

Awarded in partnership with The Harvard Club of Australia and The Australian National University, the scholarship program is administered by the ANU for postgraduate study at Harvard University in the United States.

Westpac Research Fellowship title

Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Stipend Scholarship title

Each year the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training provides funding to Universities to award scholarships to domestic and international students undertaking Higher Degree Research programs. 

ANU currently conducts two annual central scholarship rounds which includes the AGRTP, the University Research Scholarship and a few other centrally managed scholarships.  

Research Training Program (RTP) International Fee Offset Scholarship title

Each year the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training provides funding to Universities to award scholarships to International students undertaking Higher Degree Research programs under the Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP or RTP).  Note the duration of this scholarship has been updated from 3 years to 3.5 years following the VC's announcement relating to scholarship changes in effect from 1.10.2022.  Candidates now no longer have to apply to extend this scholarship from 3 years to 3.5 years.  

ANU Humanitarian Scholarship title
