Moving in date

The move-in dates for the student residences vary depending on location. You will need to refer to your accommodation offer email for your particular contract start date.

Please contact your residence if you plan on arriving before or after the contract start date to make arrangements.

Transport

ANU offers limited paid parking. Effective 1 January 2024, students living on the Acton campus in residential venues are able to park in their designated resident parking zone, subject to availability. However, we strongly urge you to explore alternative transportation options such as the city's public transport system and the University's cycling facilities rather than bringing a car.

The Acton campus is conveniently located near the city, offering a range of transportation choices. Buses, Uber, taxi services, and trams are readily available and offer reliable and punctual service. There are scenic walking paths nearby, providing some of the most picturesque views in Canberra. For hiking enthusiasts, Black Mountain Tower is just a stone's throw away.

You can also find e-scooters for hire in Canberra. These electric scooters are powered by rechargeable batteries, providing an eco-friendly way to get around. You can take advantage of car sharing services provided by Flexicar and bike share services right on the Acton campus. For more information about these services, please refer to: Carshare Scheme and Bike share.
